NIGHT OF 100 STARS

The popular and long-anticipated return of one of Durban’s most spectacular annual charity events, Night of 100 Stars will take place in August at Suncoast Casino, Hotel and Entertainment.

Thanks to the generous support and sponsorship of Suncoast and South Africa’s artistic community,, the dinner will raise funds for cancer research and awareness projects run by the Cancer Association of South Africa’s Durban branch.

Themed Fundraising Masquerade Ball, the event promises to be a glitzy affair with guests – all treated as VIP’s for contributing generously towards this significant initiative - dressed in their best costumes, walking the red carpet and experiencing unsurpassed entertainment.

“We appreciate the support given to us in the past. We realise that a successful event is dependent on the public’s participation,” said CANSA Durban project facilitator, Shauneeta Pargoolall, “We are hoping that Durbanites will turn out in full-force to support this event.”

Show director, Mark Hawkins, together with a talented production team and the cream of SA’s entertainment talent, will be pulling out all the stops to bring Durban a night of “pure scintillating enjoyment”!

This year will see star-studded performances by well-known artists including award-winning actor and celebrity, Robert Whitehead better known as Barker Haines in Isidingo."While I am known to many as Barker Haines,” says Whitehead, “I will also be attending the charity event in my individual capacity to support a most worthy cause. As performers we are tasked with the ability to entertain people and if my presence on the occasion is going to bring smiles to people's faces while generating funds for cancer research and awareness projects, then I am most privileged to make my contribution."

Also appearing will be presenter Caroline Smart, Lauren Dasappa, the only Indian soprano singer in the country; comedian Mark Banks; Cito who forms part of the SA Rockband Wonderboom; dancers from the Parker Studio of Celtic Dance; ex Idol participant, Tender Mavundla; Carla Grace, Miss Belly, Dance Italy; Christopher Duigan, one of SA’s most popular concert pianists, and Ben Vos, radio personality, writer and comic sensation.

The super-hot talent line-up of Aaron McIlroy, Lisa Bobbert, Marion Loudon, Pinkie Mtshali, Cobus van Heerden and Sean de Klerk will perform an excerpt from the sensational musical tribute Abbamaniacs Returns. The hit Broadway dance production Burn the Floor will support CANSA with a preview of their exciting show coming to Durban for the first time.

Hawkins said the final line-up would be revealed shortly as more and more top screen and stage performers rally to add their names to the bill in support of this worthy initiative.

The glittering gala dinner and show will commence at 18h00 on August 20. Tickets R400 per person or R4,000 per table include complimentary wine, a three-course meal and an evening of exceptional entertainment. Nowhere else will you witness this many star performers under one roof - so book early through Computicket to avoid being disappointed.

Donations can also be made to CANSA Durban for those unable to attend the event but wishing to support the event. Contact Shauneeta Pargoolall at CANSA Durban on 031 205 9525 or on email: spargoolall@cansa.org.za
