ESTELLE KOKOT FOR UKZN

The UKZN Centre for Jazz and Popular Music presents Songs in The Mother Key by Estelle Kokot this evening.

After establishing herself as an esteemed solo artist on the live scene, Estelle released two studio albums Alternative Therapy (1999) and Information (2007). Information was nominated for a prestigious SAMA (South African Musicians’ Award) in the Best Vocal Jazz Album category. Where Is The Rainbow a song from the album Information featured on a South African TV series, A Place Called Home. Other tracks were used on a popular Australian television drama.

Join London-born South African singer, songwriter, pianist, Estelle Kokot, as she takes audiences on a musical journey. Interpretive renditions of rearranged standards from Thelonius Monk to Miles Davis, and own compositions.

Estelle Kokot appears this evening (September 5 at 18h00) at the Centre for Jazz and Popular Music (CJPM), Level 2, Shepstone Building, UKZN. Doors open at 17h30 and show starts at 18h00.
