KZNYO GALA CONCERT

The KwaZulu-Natal Youth Orchestra will present its end of year Gala Concert on September 28.

The orchestra is assembled from a group of young musicians who audition every year for the opportunity to participate in a classical orchestral environment. At the end of a busy and successful year, the Gala concert gives the performers an opportunity for a final presentation of the year's repertoire.

Under the baton of Lyk Temmingh (A Orchestra) and Cathy Peacock and Lindsay Johnston (B Orchestra), the orchestra will present a varied programme of music which includes both classical works (Grieg, Saint-Saëns, Bizet and Prokofiev) and popular pieces such as New York, New York! and Fiesta Tropicale.
