IBRUINO

One of Durban’s most loved comedians Carvin H Goldstone’s will debut his new one-man comedy show, iBruino, at the Playhouse.

A two time comedy showdown winner, Goldstone says iBruino is the follow up show to his debut one man show, No Swearing, which was staged at the Playhouse in September last year.

“Over the last year I have been writing new material and performing it across Durban, working it out and just finding the best flow. I’m now ready to put it all together into a show and record it for DVD,” says Goldstone. ”iBruino is a pick of all the best material I have written over the last 12 months.”

Goldstone has made a name for himself with his clean no-swearing style of comedy that explores family dynamics, interracial relationships and the country as whole. However, his strongest point is undoubtedly his accurate take on Durbanites and telling stories about his experiences as a Durban Bruino.

This is not just stereotypical comedy. Goldstone’s approach is both informed an intelligent, thus the title iBruino. In No Swearing, Goldstone introduced several family characters, this time he will expand on some of these family characters and introduce a few new ones. He will also take an in-depth look at media and modern culture as well as a few swipes at Corporate South Africa.

Goldstone believes clean family comedy is the future of the industry and for six years has been at the forefront of the clean comedy revolution in Durban. “iBruino will be a rip-roaring rollercoaster of fun and laughter. I hope to make people laugh until their sugar diabetes and high blood pressure is healed.”

iBruino takes place in the Playhouse Opera on October 13. Booking is at Computicket or through Shoprite checkers on 0861 915 8000
