Popular singer and founder of the Durban Divas, Pinkie Mtshali (43), will launch her debut album Now is the Time on October 26.

The album has 10 tracks and is a crossover between different genres, Popular, Jazz, African, Blues and Gospel.

“I have composed, produced and arranged all the songs in my album,” explains Mtshali. “The late Jabulane Madida, who was my producer, assisted me in arranging my music. “

Backed by a four piece band and featuring a saxophone and a guest singer T-bone (Theatre SA), the CD is 100% Durban product as everything was done locally, Songs were recorded by Jabulane Madida at Ekhaya Multi-Art Centre in KwaMashu with support from Edmund Mhlongo. Mixing and mastering was done by Neil Snyman at Headroom Studios in Seaview. CD cover and sleeves were designed by Bheki from Umlazi.

“My music is a reflection of my musical journey and experience for the past 24 years since I entered the world of showbiz,” Mtshali continues. “The CD is a true confession that dreams do come true. Here I am 24 years later, I have my original music out on the market and soon people will be dancing to my tunes.

“I am also hoping that through this album I will achieve my long-term goal to inspire other people never to give up on their dreams until they live them and love them. It doesn't matter how long it takes, the important thing is not to give up but hold on to your dreams until you live them.”
