The Rhodes University’s Drama Department is
inviting applications for a Production Manager as well as a Supervisor of
Design Services. Both are Support Job Types.
Production Manager: Department of Drama is
required to work closely with the Head of Department, the Theatre Director and
Theatre Administrator to facilitate the effective running of the departmental
performance venues including the theatre and the box both as teaching and
professional venues. The aim is to ensure the smooth running of all
productions. Requirements: A Bachelors degree/diploma (preferably in theatre
technology) plus six years’ relevant experience. Alternately, Matric plus nine
years’ relevant experience.
Supervisor: Design Services: Department of
Drama: The purpose of this position is to provide artistic and technical
guidance to staff and students with the staging of departmental productions and
practical examinations, designing sets and costumes where and when needed, and
supervising the realisation of such. A significant part of the job includes the
teaching of scenography and other related subjects on graduate and
post-graduate levels. Requirements: A suitable Bachelors degree with three
years’ relevant working experience or six years’ relevant experience.
