The
Department of Arts and Culture (Arts Development) invites arts practitioners to
attend an Arts Indaba to be held at the BAT Centre on January 29. Programme
Director will be Mr. Phila Myeni.
The
Indaba kicks off with registration and tea from 08h30 to 10h00, followed by an
opening prayer.
Presenting
the Purpose of the Day will be Mr M B Mnguni, General Manager:Cultural Affairs,
who will introduce the Honourable MEC of Arts, Culture , Sports and Recreation;
Mrs N Sibhidla-Saphetha who will give the Keynote address.
Included
in the programme will be the introduction of Arts and Culture Forum Members as
well as a report on the previous Arts Indaba Resolutions from Mr Mnguni
Presentation
will be given on Mzansi Golden Economy Initiative (Mr Moleleki Ledimo); Opportunities
offered by Lottery (Ms Gugu Ngcobo) and The role and opportunities offered by
DEDT in the Creative Industries (Ms Fikiswa Pupuma). Breakaway sessions of two
groups will identify areas of development in the presentations by Mr. Ledimo
and Ms. Pupuma
There
will be two interludes of entertainment and the Indaba is expected to close at
16h30 after the Vote of Thanks and Closure from Dr R T Govender, Acting ROM GM/Regional
Senior Manager.
