Missed the South-east Asia talks by Charles
Botha? Then you have another chance to catch one or both talks and enjoy a
sumptuous three-course dinner including delicious Cambodian and Vietnamese
dishes on February 5 at the Durban Botanic Gardens.
Besides plants and birds, many other
aspects are included, so the talks are also of interest to non BotSoc members.
They are even worth seeing a second time! Rather than just visiting the usual
tourist spots, these talks look at how the people live, what they do (good and
bad), their food, religion, history and politics. Some of the astonishing
scenes may shock, others will make you laugh.
The programme is as follows: Malaysia & Vietnam at 17h30
followed by a lavish buffet supper at 18h45 and then Cambodia & Laos at 19h45.
Both talks and dinner with wine R195 pp
(R185 for members). One talk and dinner with wine R180 pp (R170 for members) All
proceeds go the Botanical Education Trust.
Attendance strictly by reservation and
payment no later than February 1. Contact 071 869 3693 or 031 201 5111 or email:
botsoc‐kzn@mweb.co.za. The
event takes place at the Visitors Centre, Durban Botanic Gardens.
