First theatre cartoon for artSMart by Coral
Spencer represents a first for KZN’s largest multi-cultural online magazine.
Artist Coral Spencer has generously offered
to do cartoons of theatre productions to be published on artSMart.
“This is a tremendous gesture by Coral,
particularly as artSMart is a voluntary service,” says artSMart editor,
Caroline Smart. “In days gone by, the cartoons by the legendary Jock Leyden –
which adorn the walls of the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre bar area – created an
added interest in any theatre production.
”We are hoping to pick up on that tradition
we proudly present Coral’s first cartoon – that of the KickstArt production of Twitch which is currently running at the
Sneddon.”
Coral Spencer’s exhibition Face booked opened this evening at
artSPACE durban and provides further proof that she is a very talented artist.
