Nibs van der Spuy and Guy Buttery will
perform at Seabrooke’s Theatre from March 6 to 9.
After over a decade of writing, recording
and touring together, the two musicians finally released their first
collaborative album. Following an extremely successful string of launches in
South Africa, these internationally renowned musicians toured their brand new
show at prestigious festivals and venues throughout Europe and the UK
accompanied by the release of their debut release In the Shade of the Wild Fig.
The duo also won the very prestigious Standard
Bank Ovation Award out of 480 productions for Best Music at The National Arts
Festival in Grahamstown, South Africa. This accolade led to sold-out
performances at numerous festivals and concert halls in South Africa and Europe
receiving rave reviews for both their live show and their debut album.
In 2012 they were also invited to perform
with the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra and were voted “Top Live Show” in 2012 by
The Cape Times.
The four performances at Seabrooke’sTheatre
will be the first shows in their hometown of Durban in over four months.
