Alliance Française
de Durban and eThekwini Municipality will present Francofête! on March 21.
The programme
includes the 14h Musical opening of the market with René Tshiakanyi (pop -
DRC/SA); Natalie Winter (folk - SA); Madala Kunene (afro folk - SA) and Holly Wasserfall
(pop - SA).
Starting at 17h00
Julien Delmaire (slam- France) appears beside Teacup (poetry - SA). At 19h00, there’s
Celina Ramsauer (accordion/vocal - Switzerland) with Tresor Riziky (pop/soul -
DRC/SA).
At 20h30 Dj Labelle
(electro/maloya - Reunion/France) performs alongside Youngstar Production
(contemporary dance - SA) and Umucyo Dance (traditional dance - Rwanda/SA).
There will also be
a Graffiti performance from Jace (Reunion/France) and a Sign language
performance from Green Heart City (SA).
There will be food
market & crafts stalls, kiddies fun and a permaculture workshop and
environmental awareness by Botanical Gardens.
Francofête! takes place on March 21 from 14h00 to 22h00 in Sutton Park (opposite Alliance
Française). Entrance is free.
