Izwi – The Voice Youth Movement is a vibrant youth initiative focusing on using art as a medium of communicating on historical issues and current issues affecting communities, especial youth. The youth of Mpophomeni  just outside Howick came together to initiate such a movement with the aim of giving the youth a voice and using art as a strategy in sharing ideas, by utilizing individuals and groups’ artistic talents to educate and raise awareness on social issues.

The official launch of Izei will take place on March 22 and will serve to present the idea of the movement to the community, especially the youth who are direct beneficiaries of the programme. A further aim is to communicate the idea with stakeholders and possible partners, for the strengthening of the movement towards its sustainability.

Izwi aims to discover and celebrate talents that are possessed by the township and surrounding youth. It will outline and initiate the programme of action that was prepared by the movement as the strategy to fulfil its mandate.

The launch will take place today (March 22) at 10h00 in the Mpophomeni Community Hall. More information about the organisation from Thulani Mthalane at 033 342 0052 or 072 111 2112 or email:
