CARVIN H GOLDSTONE'S COMEDY SHOW

(Carvin H Goldstone)

Promising rip-roaring, hilarious, standup comedy for the whole family, South Africa's fastest rising standup comedy star, Carvin H Goldstone, will perform in the Playhouse Opera Theatre on June 29.

He commands audiences ranging from Bluff ous to Slum ous, Bruin ous to Bread ous, Zulu's and Boolooloos and many in between. Comedy DVD sales have seen his national comedy profile grow in leaps and bounds in recent years, expanding his funny style to all South African audiences.

Carvin has an arsenal of accents, impersonations and funny true stories about his life and Durbanites. He is a storyteller extraordinaire. But what keeps the crowds coming back and bringing others with them to watch this young comedian is the fact that he does it all without swearing or talking dirty.

In seven years on stage Carvin has never used any vulgarity in his comedy. And everybody in comedy is starting to take note. Indian comedy King Muthu Murugan called Carvin the future of Durban comedy and said he was impressed at how he did it all without swearing. South Africa's comedy cousin Barry Hilton told a full house at his one man show at Sibiya isiZulu Theatre to go and watch Carvin H Goldstone. "He is one funny young man," said Hilton. Heavyweight comedians Loyiso Gola, Stuart Taylor, Joey Rasdien and Nik Rabinowitz have all asked Carvin to be the opening act at their one man shows.

However, it is in his own one-man shows that Carvin really steps into his own and shows why he’s one of Durban comedy's main ous. His 2011 debut one-man show – No Swearing – was a huge local success at the Playhouse Drama and solidified his standing as Durban’s most hilarious, “100% clean” comedian! 2012 saw the launch of his second, highly anticipated one-man show –iBruino - which had audience members of all ages and race groups in stitches!

Carvin will launch his latest comedy DVD, iBruino, with one last staging of the show at the Playhouse Opera Theatre on June 29 at 20h00. It’s an hour and a half of clean, family-friendly comedy with a unique Durban flavour from one of the city's finest. Tickets R120 at Computicket, Shoprite and Checkers or R80 for block bookings of 10 tickets or more.

iBruino DVD will be on sale after the show. For more information email bookcarvin@gmail.com or call 083 235 6280.
