A special BBC documentary celebrating the
birth of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Royal baby boy, Prince George
Alexander Louis, will be screened on BBC Knowledge tonight (July 28 at 21h45.
It will also be a channel premiere on BBC
Entertainment today (July 28) at 16h45 and on BBC Lifestyle at 21h00
With contributions from those closest to
the Royal family, including veteran Royal correspondent Jennie Bond, Princess
Diana’s former bodyguard Ken Wharfe, and Royal biographer and editor of Majesty
Magazine Ingrid Seward, this extraordinary documentary features personal tales,
rarely seen archive footage and that first glimpse of the world’s most famous
newborn.
In this exclusive BBC Knowledge film, Hugh
Bonneville (Downtown Abbey, Twenty Twelve)
observes how British heirs to the throne are prepared for their ultimate role –
becoming the future Monarch.
BBC viewers are given an exclusive insight
in to the changing lives of UK Royals and the ways in which they have dealt with
their own children, becoming more hands-on through the generations.
This one-off documentary also includes
classic archive footage and iconic images from the lives of the Royal family
with Hugh Bonneville guiding viewers through the grander black and white images
of the past and the more intimate moments from the current Queen, her parents
and grandparents, and the Queen’s own heirs from Charles (and his marriage to
Diana), through to the next generation with young Princes Harry and William and,
finally, William and Kate and their newborn baby.
