ANDRE THE HILARIOUS HYPNOTIST HEADS EAST

(The popular entertainer returns to Durban and Pietermaritzburg in August)

Is it a Kangaroo, a Dinosaur or could it be Superman? No, it's Andre the Hilarious Hypnotist and a group of volunteers from his audience acting in strange, weird and wonderful ways.

Following his sold-out season in 2012, Andre returns to Durban’s Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre and the Hexagon in Pietermaritzburg as he brings more of his dry wit, strange humour and a heap of new routines. He has selected some of the best material he could find in order to ensure that his audience is provided with two hours of side-splitting fun, laughter and stress-reducing entertainment.

With no two shows ever being the same, not even Andre knows what to expect. If you have not seen Andre's show before, where have you been? He became a household name in the 1990's when his show became an instant hit across the country. Since then he has performed in every theatre, city hall, town hall, school hall - and places he prefers not to mention - filling venues to capacity.

Andre's popularity soon led to his own television special, followed by a television series and now his first book (only available at shows). His show has taken him up Africa, across Australia and into countries few would venture - Zimbabwe comes to mind. (Technically, hypnotising someone in Zimbabwe is a crime).

With that, Andre returns to his place of birth – Durban - but he has more than just a show up his sleeve. He is also going viral. With a vote from members of the audience and the kind permission of his volunteers, Andre will take his show to the streets and neighbourhoods of Durban creating candid camera mayhem broadcast live to millions of viewers across the world.

Catch Andre the Hilarious Hypnotist at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre from August 6 to 25. Performances from Tuesdays to Saturdays at 19h30 (Sundays at 15h00). Andre then moves to the Hexagon Theatre in Pietermaritzburg for a short season from August 27 to 31.

Tickets R90 (R65.00 on presentation of student/pensioner card or for those under the age of 12) for both shows booked at Computicket on 0861 915 8000 or online at www.computicket.com

Andre would like to remind theatre-goers that he will not drag, pull or in any way coerce audience members to take part in the show.
