JIM GORISSEN



Tomorrow evening (Wednesday, August 14), The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music at the University of KZN will present Jim Gorissen (NL).

During his 2012 visit, Jim had an opportunity to play with local band Masquenada and local musician Shomon Daniel, at the Spogweni festival. He also played with Ildo Nandja and Ian at Zack's Windermere and at a Greek restaurant with Johnny Casquinha.

His multi-talented capacity is illustrated by his activities in various fields such as Salsa and Latin, Swing and Jazz, Rock and Pop, North African Rai, etc. Jim has been a teacher since 2003 and manages its own school, Guitar World.

Jim Gorissen’s line-up includes Shomon Daniels (vocals), Neil Gonsalves (piano), Richard Ellis (percussion), Ildo Nandja (bass), Mike Milton Chissano (guitar) and Thulile Zama (vocals).

The performance takes place on August 14 at 18h00 at the Centre for Jazz and Popular Music, Level 2, Shepstone Building at UKZN Howard College Campus. (Doors open at 17h30)
