The annual JOMBA! Programme
will fill the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre with a variety of dance from August 28
to September 8.
The following
productions will take place at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre.
August 28 & 29
at 19h30: B.L.E.N.D and The King in Exile. Preceded by a welcome
by Lliane Loots (JOMBA! Artistic Director). B.L.E.N.D
is choreographed by Desiré Davids (South Africa) and Hélène Cathala (France). The King in Exile is choreographed by
Francisco Camacho (Portugal). After the final performance on August 29: JOMBA! Talks Dance: post show discussion
with Davids, Cathala and Camacho hosted by Lliane Loots.
August 30 & 31 at
19h30: Indumba choreographed by Fana
Tshabalala. After the final performance on August 31: JOMBA! Talks Dance: post show discussion with Tshabalala and PJ
Sabbagha hosted by Lliane Loots.
September 1 at

at 19h30: Tea For Two & Another Chopsticks Story - choreography
by Misato Inoue and Félix Duméril of T42 (Switzerland). After the final

Presentation of the 3rd annual Eric Shabalala Dance Champion Award for 2013. The Dance We Dance: Deeply Rooted Dance
Theatre (Chicago, USA) will present an evening of a confluence of some of their
key signature works that will also feature Durban’s Flatfoot Dance JOMBA!
Talks Dance: post show discussion with Kevin Iega Jeff and Gary Abbott
hosted by Lliane Loots.
September 8 at 14h30:
FREE EVENT!! Move - a film directed
by Theodore Collatos (featuring Deeply Rooted Dance Theatre)
19h30: The Dance We Dance: Deeply Rooted Dance
Theatre (Chicago, USA) will present an evening of a confluence of some of their
key signature works that will also feature Durban’s Flatfoot Dance Company –
choreography by Kevin Iega Jeff, Gary Abbott, Krystal Hall-Glass, Anthony Marshall.
Apart from the
above productions at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre, the JOMBA! Youth Fringe
will take place at the Wiggins Community Hall in Cato Manor/Umkhumbane on
August 31 at 14h30
September 2 sees
JOMBA! fans move to artSPACEdurban for the programme JOMBA! @ artSPACE (durban) which takes place at 18h00.
The 15th annual
JOMBA! Contemporary Dance Experience runs from August 28 to September 8 at the
Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre at 19h30. Tickets R50 (R35
