The Mondays At Six @ St Clements programme this evening (September 9) sees Rajesh Gopie reading from his new play, Tamasha on Hope Street.

A Zimbabwean school teacher in exile in South Africa escapes with his life from a township xenophobic attack and takes refuge in the Indian township of Chatsworth. He gets a job as a night watchman tasked with keeping seedy elements off his employer's shop front during nocturnal hours. However, he is on a collision course with a feisty young Indian prostitute who makes her living from that very spot.

A remarkable coming together of worlds, dreams and cultures plays itself out with startling repercussions.

St Clements is situated at 191 Musgrave Road. Mondays at Six run between 18h00 and 19h00. Booking is advised on 031 202 2511. There is no cover charge but there is a donations box to support presenters.
