THE SWINGING SIXTIES

(Dave Monks)

Let the good times roll again as Dave Monks transports audiences back in time to what he calls the “Era of Real Music” with his show, The Swinging Sixties.

Monks entertains superbly in this very well put-together collection of nostalgic and popular Sixties hits. The show features covers of more than 40 different artists which include Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Kinks, CCR, The Monkees, Cliff Richard, The Animals and The Bee Gees.

Dave features with some great lead guitar work as he glides through some of The Shadows greatest hits, Atlantis and the ever green Apache.

The Woodstock Medley, Beatles Medley, and Rock & Roll Medleys are sure to have audiences reminiscing, particularly those who were around during the great explosive musical times of the 60’s. The use of harmonica on some of The Beatles songs is very effective and very much in tune with the whole 60’s vibe. This is a good show for the whole family.

There are a couple of comedy songs where the lyrics have been changed for a little fun and frivolity. During the show Monks reminisces about his teenage years spent growing up in the 60s which adds a personal touch to the show. He plays guitar and vocals, entertaining the audience with well-known songs of this great musical era which was the foundation to his musical career.
