South Africa’s very own “Mr Music”, Richard
Cock, gives local youngsters a unique and special opportunity to discover the
instruments of the orchestra. Presented by Parklane SUPERSPAR, this morning
event at the Pietermaritzburg City Hall on December 12 offers the chance to
discover this magical musical world.first hand and up close.
Joining him on stage will be a group of 15
different instruments from the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra. Richard Cock will
show and introduce important instruments, how they are played, how they work,
and most importantly, how they play together: These instruments are: violin,
viola, cello, double bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet,
trombone and a three-piece rhythm of piano, electric bass and drum kit.
This unique presentation is perfect for the
holidays, lasts for an hour, and is ideally suitable for children 7-16 years
old. Older teens and parents are welcome, too.
The performance takes place in the Pietermaritzburg
City Hall at 11h00 on December 12. Tickets R50 (throughout) on sale from Dulce
