Action on DSTV packs a hefty punch with a raft of iconic CBS series coming to
Africa. Following the success of the channel in the UK, CBS Action is the new
home of action-packed American dramas, tense thrillers, sci-fi favourites and
fast-paced movies.

Mission: Impossible (1989) Season 2. From December
10 (weekdays 16h50 and 11h50 - Omnibus Saturdays at 07h40). Take a trek down
memory lane with this 1960s series which inspired the world famous film of the
same title starring Tom Cruise. Mission
Impossible features the Impossible Missions Force (IMF); a team of secret
government agents who carry out highly sensitive assignments. Dan Briggs, head
of the IMF, accepts seemingly impossible missions and assigns tasks to
carefully selected force members. Season two includes many covert and devious
adventures including the IMF team disguised as an undercover carnival troupe.

(Saturday omnibus from 14h20). The gritty crime drama inspired by the real-life
experiences of former New York Deputy Police Commissioner Jack Maple, continues
with Season 2 in December. Mayor of Washington, DC Mannion (Craig T Nelson) is
a tenacious champion of the underdog and an avowed crime fighter whose
revolutionary tactics resulted in a 50% drop in crime in Boston and in Newark,
N.J.
Walker Texas Ranger (1993) Season 2: Weekdays at 20h10,
23h35 and 12h40 from December 20. (Omnibus Sundays 20h10). Texas Ranger Cordell
Walker, one of the last old-fashioned heroes in the West, is a protective friend
but a relentless foe who will stop at nothing to bring a criminal to justice. Starring
the legendary Chuck Norris, this high-kicking adventure series features Walker,
a man of few words and swift moves. Walker’s crime fighting techniques are routed
in the rugged traditions of the Old West. His partner Jimmy Trivette is a slick
ex-football star with a cutting edge intellect and a pop-psychology approach to
criminology. Together this mismatched pair is trying to wrest control of the
American Southwest from the criminal elements living there. In the process, the
conflict between these two Lone Star lawmen makes them one of the most
entertaining law enforcement teams ever assembled for television.
