RANGMANCH PRAVESH OF BHAVTA HARRIELALL

(Bhavta Harrielall)

The Rangmanch Pravesh of Bhavta Harrielall, a student of Pravika's Kathak Kendra will take place on January 11 at Sibaya’s iZulu Theatre.

Nandini Bookhan (Pravika Nandkishore) is a highly respected dancer who has performed for Presidents of South Africa and India as well as Queen Elizabeth II of England. She showed a keen interest in Kathak and began lessons with her mother, Leela Nandkishore, at a tender age of five. It was imperative that she study abroad in order to quickly grasp this art form. She then began to make yearly trips to India studying under reputable dance gurus like Dr RoshanKumari, Kathak Queens Jayanti mala and her mother padmashree Dr (Smt) Sitaradevi.

She made first trip abroad at the age of 12 to spend six months in Mauritius with Kathak expert and choreographer Anna Patten. She then began to make yearly trips to India studying under reputable dance gurus like Dr RoshanKumari, Kathak Queens Jayanti mala and her mother padmashree Dr (Smt) Sitaradevi.

“I write with great honour and pride today knowing that Kathak is passed on, in its purest form, to a worthy recipient, Bhavta Harrielall,” says Nandini Bookhan who performs under the name of Pravika Nandkishore. “Having studied Kathak in India from various gurus, each an expert in their own field,  makes me feel worthy of their training and guidance... as what is the point of learning so much,  if not to pass it on to the next generation?”

Bhavta Harrielall’s Rangmanch Pravesh sees her crossing the threshold to a whole new level of dance after a strenuous period of training.

The performance will take place on January 11 from 16h00 to 18h00 at the iZulu Theatre at Sibaya Casino & Entertainment Kingdom. For more information contact Nandini Bookhan (Pravika Nandkishore) on 074 104 9625 or 033 3475188 or email: Nandini.Bookhan@gmail.com
