VIKRAM HAZRA

(Vikram Hazra)

Known internationally for his unique style of music, Vikram Hazra returns to Durban for one show only on Human Rights Day

Fusing ancient Sanskrit chants and secular wisdom with the sounds of the electric guitar to create a genre that transcends boundaries, uplifts the spirit and scintillates the audience, Hazra returns to South Africa on his African Tour.

There will be two performances: one at the Durban University of Technology (DUT) on March 21 and at the Gandhi Hall in Lenasia (Gauteng) on March 29. Hazra was last in the country in 2012. He is in South Africa hosted by The Art of Living Foundation – an international volunteer based humanitarian, educational NGO movement founded in 1981 by His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar which is globally active in 152 countries.

For his Africa concerts, his band comprises himself on vocals, flute, electric guitar, nylon-string guitar and guitar synthesizer with Shivraj “Mizo” Doss on guitar and Soumyajyoti Ghosh on flute.

The Durban performances takes place on March 21 at 17h00 at the Ritson Exam Hall, DUT, Gate 1 Winterton Walk. Tickets R150 booked through Amrika on 031 409 1442 or email: durbanoffice@artofliving.org.za
