THE KZN PUREJOY TOUR

(Nicola Jackman)

Nicola Jackman, actress, joy catalyst and one of Glamour's Women of the Year in 2013, is calling on the folk in KwaZulu-Natal to prepare for The UP’s inspiring KZN PureJOY Tour running from May 10 to 26.

Jackman will be welcomed by Julia Ambler (KZN’s LEADSA Hero of the Year) at a fundraising breakfast for Umduduzi Hospice Care For Children, a remarkable organization working in nine state hospitals in KZN. This is the start of a beautiful synergy of efforts between their two respected organisations – that both bring relief to children suffering with life threatening illnesses.

Jackman will spend the duration of the PureJOY Tour sharing the joy-inspiring tools she has learnt over the past 10 years, she says “In these 20plus days we’re intending to Uplift over 3,000 people and support the sustained growth of love & joy in the Banana Republic.” The Castle in Hillcrest, home of The Conscious CafĂ©, will host Nicola & The UP whilst they are in town and a number of public events will be delivered there.

She played the role of Elise Buller in the original cast of Isidingo from 1998-2001. Currently she’s one of the key cast for the award-winning TV Comedy of the Year – ZANews, where she impersonates the likes of Helen Zille, Deborah Patta and Lady Gaga. She balances her life of performance with catalyzing joy, as founder of the inspiring arts for health organization – The UPliftment Programme (The UP - www.theup.org.za).

Following the rousing success of The UP’s 2013 PureJOY TOUR to Gauteng and the remarkable outreach & UPliftment of over 2,000 youth and the further sustained weekly UPliftment of over 400 children every month in hospitals in Johannesburg; she’s chosen to bring a similar tour to KZN to enthuse people to live more purposefully and grow the joy movement in KZN and beyond.

The KZN PureJoy Tour will consist of a programme of MAfrika theatre shows, live Joy Talks, Care Clown Trainings and even hospital visits.

Joy Activism is a term being coined by the UPliftment program to sit alongside peace and environmental activism as an act of ‘Loving & purposeful humanKINDness”.

The UP helps everyone unleash their creativity, their inner child, and learn to act from a place of love rather than fear.
