The University of
KwaZulu-Natal’s School of Arts-Music presents Siyaphambile Asibeke Emuva which means “We are moving forward not
looking back”.
This expression
refers to the important strides being made in the African Music & Dance
programme as witnessed through its work over the past years, and the
outstanding students it repeatedly produces. This semester will be no different
when the programme presents the end of semester lunch hour concert featuring
various ensembles composed of African Music and Dance students from levels 1 to
3.
In full authentic
costumes and traditional dress, the concert will include music and dance from
both South Africa as well as different African countries, reflecting what is
studied in the programme which aims to instil a strong sense of Africanism ,
ensuring that our African heritage is not forgotten.
The concert tkes
place on May 19 from 12h15 to 13h05 in Howard College Theatre on the University
