The next Friends of Music Recital will take
place on June 10.
It will feature Ilya Gringolts, described by
The Financial Times as “one of the most inspirational violinists today”. He won
the 1998 International Violin Competition “Premio Paganini” and the two special
prizes for the youngest first prize-winner in the history of the competition
and the best interpreter. He has performed all over Europe, Asia, North
America, Australia and South Africa.
He will be accompanied on the piano by Peter
Laul who won first prize and a special prize for the best Schubert Sonata
performance at the Bremen International Piano competition.
Their programme will feature the Dvorak
Sonata F Major, Beethoven sonata No. 7 and the Strauss Sonata.
The Prelude Performer, for the evening will
be Arianna Carini on guitar playing Francisco Tarrega’s Capricho Arabe; Zapateados by Miguel Perez and Vals Venezolano by Antonio Lauro.
