Friends of Music’s next recital will take
place on June 24. Featuring the KZNPO String Quartet, it should be a stunning
and unusual recital.
All members of the KZN Philharmonic, the
quartet comprises Johanna Frankel (Concert Master); Violetta Osorhean (Associate
Concert Master); David Snaith (Principal Viola Player); Boris Kerimov (Principal
Cellist); Sorin-Osorhean (Principal French Horn), and Tzanko Tzankov (French
Horn).
The programme will feature works by Mozart,
Beethoven and Mendelssohn.
In the Prelude Performers slot, established
by the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund will be Monde Ngwane, a cello student
at the Durban Music School. His programme will include Handel’s Cherza, Infida; Tchaikovsky’s Chanson Triste and Joplin’s Easy Winners.
