SAIARTMA AUDITIONS

SaiArtMa Productions is looking to cast experienced actors for their forthcoming play, The Eish ... in the B.E.E Sting.

The Eish ... in the B.E.E Sting celebrates 20 years of democracy and centres on a cross-cultural relationship between an Indian female and a Black male. The play is expressed in a light-hearted, humorous way whilst exploring incidents from history (Inanda Riots 1985, Soweto Massacre). The play highlights Madiba’s vision of reconciliation and encompasses Shree Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings of love and unity. The play uses comedy, drama, song and dance.

Experienced actors are invited to audition for the following roles:

-African Zulu maid (early 20s). She must transform to be eloquently spoken and smartly dressed.
-African Black male (late 20s), well spoken, professional and charming.
-Indian female (late 20s) with darker skin tone, beautiful, charming, professional in the performing arts.  UK or USA accent is a bonus.
-Indian man (late 50s), medium to dark in complexion. A natural comedian, stubborn, entrenched in his way of life.
-Indian lady (early 50s). She is a loving mother and caregiver to the family. She is traditional at home but modern in her way of thinking

The auditions will be held Coastlands Hotel, 329 Umhlanga Rocks Drive, Umhlanga on June 10 from 10h00 to 19h00. Actors to be available in July and August, 2014

Actors should prepare a monologue, dance piece and a song of their choice. Contact Samantha Govender to book a 15 minute audition slot on 073 465 4869 or email: saiartmaproductions@gmail.com
