SaiArtMa Productions is looking to cast
experienced actors for their forthcoming play, The Eish ... in the B.E.E Sting.
The
Eish ... in the B.E.E Sting celebrates 20 years of
democracy and centres on a cross-cultural relationship between an Indian female
and a Black male. The play is expressed in a light-hearted, humorous way whilst
exploring incidents from history (Inanda Riots 1985, Soweto Massacre). The play
highlights Madiba’s vision of reconciliation and encompasses Shree Sathya Sai
Baba’s teachings of love and unity. The play uses comedy, drama, song and
dance.
Experienced actors are invited to audition for
the following roles:
-African Zulu maid (early 20s). She must
transform to be eloquently spoken and smartly dressed.
-African Black male (late 20s), well
spoken, professional and charming.
-Indian female (late 20s) with darker skin
tone, beautiful, charming, professional in the performing arts. UK or USA accent is a bonus.
-Indian man (late 50s), medium to dark in
complexion. A natural comedian, stubborn, entrenched in his way of life.
-Indian lady (early 50s). She is a loving
mother and caregiver to the family. She is traditional at home but modern in
her way of thinking
The auditions will be held Coastlands
Hotel, 329 Umhlanga Rocks Drive, Umhlanga on June 10 from 10h00 to 19h00. Actors
to be available in July and August, 2014
