(Details from one of the works on
the exhibition)
An exhibition by members of the KZN Ceramic Association
titled Interpreting Ceramics is
currently running at the KZNSA Gallery.
Innovative and exciting makers of clay art have got together
to create a contemporary ceramic exhibition in which the artists express ideas
through the creative field of ceramics.
Rayson Hiyani, Ann Shultz and Rita Senekal are invited guest
artists and Fellows of the Association - Garth Hoets, Lindsay Scott and Andrew
Walford will also have work on the exhibition. Ceramics of striking form from
the expressive to the functional can be viewed. Ceramic fish were made and
invited painters were asked to decorate them so there will also be a wall of
painted fish as well as a section on mugs of all shapes and sizes made by
members especially for the show.
Interpreting Ceramics runs in the KZNSA’s Main Gallery until
August 3. The KZNSA Gallery is
situated at 166 Bulwer Road,
Glenwood, in Durban.
