St Clements, is hosting the return of one of South Africa's most exciting improvisation collaborations: the standing duo between maestros Ant Cawthorn-Blazeby on violin and Francois the HA!Man on cello.

The rare experience of virtuoso players in complete improvisation that really works is back! HA!Man (cello and keyboard) and Anton Cawthorn-Blazeby (violin) have given audiences a few thrilling excitements in the past and they are building on it!

The two boundary-breaking acoustic performers have limited opportunity to perform in a dedicated concert together. Their respective busy schedules have created the occasion for them to play again!

Francois has been travelling and performing worldwide for a number of years, pushing musical boundaries in an inspirational and spell binding way with a wide variety of styles and expression, from the United States to Eastern Europe, featuring performances with cello, keyboard, voice and dance. His music reflects his Southern African roots, and he is also noted as the composer of 'Africa - Her time has come'.

Anton's versatility, musical integrity and skill allow him to play across boundaries and genres with a wide variety of other musicians. His particular affinity is with quirky music with a Celtic feel, mostly expressed with Celtis, a project with musicians Ron Uken and Keri Povall. Ant was a founding member of seminal instrumental band Landscape Prayers, which released four critically acclaimed albums and toured extensively during the band's lifetime.

Ant and Francois' early evening performance promises to be a treat for lovers of spontaneous, quirky and innovative music! They will be joined on the night by Joke Debaere from Belgium, adding her spontaneous flow of voice and words to the electrifying mix.

Catch HA!Man and Ant Cawthorn-Blazeby on August 15 at St Clements, 191 Musgrave Road, Durban. Couvert charge R90. Bookings on 031 202 2511.
