REMEMBER MARIKANA



A Solidarity Benefit Concert will be held on August 16 at Live the Venue in Durban on behalf of the Miners Shot Down campaign for justice.

The concert will be hosted by Live the Venue, in association with Durban Is Yours; Street Scene; Off Tha Record; The Body Rock Crew and #WhatIfThisCity

This will be an evening of live music and performance, in aid of the MSD campaign for justice for the victims of the Marikana mining massacre of August 16, 2012. All proceeds go to the campaign, with 50% going directly to the widows and families of the deceased workers. All associated artists, the venue, the logistics team and organizers have offered their contribution without remuneration, in the spirit of unity and humanity that drives this initiative.

The programme includes the screening of Miners Shot Down a film by Rehad Desai at 19h00; Tim Wells (20h30); Hezron Chetty (21h15); Nje (22h00); Luminati (23h00) and The Nutscratchers and guests at 01h00)
