The first Arts
& Design Digital Festival takes place today (September 12) and tomorrow (September
13) at the DUT City Arts and Steve Biko Campuses.
Imagine 800 arts
students and more than 20 rooms and courtyards and Graffiti alleyways with
digital art and QR coded fashion shows, animation and flash films (bring your
flash stick and share your movie) creative coding workshops, pop-up shop
selling digi-cuffs, hipster T-shirts, digital printed bags.
While this main
part of the festival is on the City Campus, sick bands, slam poets, live graff,
dance and theatre with live gaming in the play take place at The Courtyard
Theatre, DUT Steve Biko campus tonight and tomorrow night at 19h00.
Park & Ride: Do
park at the massive parking lot at Ritson Campus Parking lot in Steve Biko Road,
Berea's Steve Biko Campus (they have extra campus security) where there are art
buses to take you down into the belly of the city to the digi festival with
shuttles every 15 minutes. Parking is very limited at the city campus so rather
take the bus!
The festival runs
from 17h00 to 21h00 today (September 12) and tomorrow (Saturday, September 13)
from 12h00 to 22h00 at the DUT City Arts Campus, corner of Pixley KaSema (West
Street) and Julius Nyerere Streets (Warwick Street), Durban. Entrance is free.
