The 8th annual Glenwood Festival is currently underway over
this weekend (September 6 and 7)
The proactive Glenwood Community Forum in Durban believes
this bustling and vibrant suburb is “A good place to live, work, educate and
raise a family”.
More than 100 works of art from various local high schools is
on display at the Corner Café in an exhibition curated by Sarie de Beer and
facilitated by Stewart Littler.
Radio personality Dave Guselli is the broadcast host for the
festival, sponsored by SuperSpar Glenwood. The Camelot College Craft Market at
Glenwood Prep has lots of interesting craft goods on sale.
What has become a monthly occurrence, The Bulwer Food &
Craft Lover’s Market, has been included into the festival programme. It will be
run again today (September 7) in Bulwer Park from 10h00 until 14h00. There will
be a range of deli-items for an open-air spring picnic brunch; as well as gift
ideas; décor inspirations; and arts and crafts on sale. A special festival
feature of the market will be the inclusion of The Artists in Action: get inspired by artists working at their
easels under the shade of the trees and watch works of art in progress.
Sunday is a “Community Day of Prayer”. An
interdenominational service will be held at the Glenwood High School at 18h30.
Entry is free and all are welcome. Monetary gifts or food parcels for the
