In next week’s show (December 23) Graham Norton welcomes Hollywood stars Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, British actors Jude Law and Tamsin Greig and singer-songwriter Nicole Scherzinger.

Jim, talking about his and Jeff’s new movie Dumb and Dumber 2, and why they are reprising their old characters after 20 years, says, “We did it for the fans… they won’t let us alone!”  Jeff adds jokingly, “We did it to shut them up!”

Jude, talking what his children think of him, he says, “There are droplets of humiliation. It’s just my job and for them it’s what dad does, but there is that funny thing when you get home and they ask, ‘What did you do today?’ and I say, ‘I wore someone else’s clothes and pretended to be someone else.’ It’s a very odd job.”

Tamsin talks about appearing in her first musical, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, and how she prepared herself for the fear, she jokes, “I had children and that’s it!” adding more seriously, “I think, unless you’re scared there’s not much point in doing anything. Everything is a risk and you have to feel what that feels like, otherwise you’re just treading water.”

Nicole performs Run live in the studio, before joining Graham for a chat. Describing being in Cats as ‘Amazeballs,’ she says, “I feel like a Shakespearian actor working with Sir Trevor Nunn, it’s hardcore,” adding, “I’m studying cats and I’m allergic to cats!”

And finally, Graham pulls the lever on more foolhardy audience members brave enough to sit in the Red Chair.

The Graham Norton Show will be broadcast on BBC Entertainment on DStv on December 23, at 21h40.
