My favourite restaurant receives a prestigious award for the
second year running. (Report by Caroline Smart)
Stef’s Table at
Schoemansville is a little culinary gem on the surroundings of
Hartbeestport Dam that you either know about or you don’t. Those who do know about it will undoubtedly recommend it as one of
their favourite restaurants. Those who don’t, have a treat in store.
Stef’s Table is an
intimate restaraunt run by chef Stef van Vuuren and Athlone Mills. The a la carte menu offers international,
French and South African cuisine in a relaxing and delicious dining experience.
This is borne out in that - for the second year running – Stef’s Table has received the prestigious
2015 Accredited American Express Platinum Card Fine Dining Restaurant award.
“I feel greatly
honoured to have won this award twice and to be acknowledged for our restaurant
quality,” says van Vuuren. “Awards also provide a major challenge because
you are now virtually competing against yourself! To me, one customer is as
important as the next. We aim to give a standard quality of service to
everyone. We want each customer to have an enjoyable dining experience from
start to finish - from the moment
they drive in, until they leave.”
Stef’s Table
celebrates its 12th anniversary on St Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2015.
The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Wednesdays to
Saturdays and for lunch on Sundays. It is situated on 73 Scott Street in
Schoemansville close to the Gem shop. The venue is licensed (corkage R45).
Vuuren and Athlone Mills will take a break in the last two
weeks in January when Stef’s Table will be closed. For more information contact 012 253 2384 or
