Join the KZNSA Gallery on January 27 at 18h00 for the first
exhibition opening of 2015, the prestigious KZNSA Annual Members’ Exhibition.
This year, members were invited to engage with the ethos of the society with
the theme of Transformation, Incubation,
Activation.
The Members’ exhibition brings together a host of local
amateur and professional talent working across a wide spectrum of mediums and
disciplines, including paintings, prints, ceramic work, photography and mixed
media installations.
A floating trophy and generous prize money to the value of
R20,000 is donated to the KZNSA Members’ Exhibition by the Emanuel family, in
memory of Durban painter and long standing member of the KZNSA, Joan Emanuel.
This donation has directly resulted in raising the standard of the show.
Joan Emanuel was involved in the Durban art community for
many years. She had a natural talent for painting and drawing and was a founder
member of the North Coast Art Group. Emanuel took part in many KZNSA members’
exhibitions and staged two solo exhibitions at the NSA Gallery in Overport
City.
The exhibition will be opened by KZNSA President Sheryl
Msomi and prizes will be awarded on the night; don't miss what promises to be a
highlight of the exhibition calendar.
The KZNSA Gallery
is situated at 166 Bulwer Road,
Glenwood, in Durban.
