Friends of Music’s first recital for 2015 will take place on
January 27 and will feature The Wits Trio.
Made up of violinist Zanta Hofmeyr, cellist Maciej Lacny and
pianist Malcolm Nay, the trio will perform works by Schubert, Dvořák and Shostakovich. Hofmeyr is
the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships. Lacny has played throughout
Europe. Nay, who is an Associate Professor at Wits Music, is regarded as one of
the finest chamber pianists in South Africa.
The Prelude Performer will be pianist Rashalia Pather whose
programme will include works by Debussy and Villa-Lobos.
The recital will take place on January 27 at 19h30 at the Durban
Jewish Centre, 44 Old Fort (K E Masinga) Road, Durban. Tickets R70 (R60 FOM Members
