Andrew Young, the world renowned saxophonist and his band
will perform All You Need Is Love, a
Valentines Tribute to the Music of the Beatles, on February 13 at the Hellenic
Community Centre.
This is a sensitive, nostalgic and very professionally
choreographed story of Andrew’s and the Beatles’ lives in Liverpool. The music
and supporting videos will take you through a remarkable and unforgettable
musical history in the 50th anniversary year of the Beatles rise to fame.
The event is being staged as a fundraiser for the Rotary
Club of Umhlanga in support of its Districts agricultural project at Amaoti in
Inanda. Large communities of motivated people are working with Rotary to rise
above unemployment with suitable training, installation of irrigation
facilities and a sustainable community feedback programme.
“We have already successfully raised funds from Rotary
International Clubs abroad and we are looking to demonstrate a local
cooperative contribution with Rotarians directly involved ensuring proper
development and accounting of the project,” say the organisers.
The concert takes place on February 13 at 18h30 for 19h00 at
the Hellenic Community Centre, 6 High Grove (off Browns Drift), Durban North. The
event will be based on a British theme in terms of atmosphere, food and music.
