CHI’NG-WA SHENG FOR ST CLEMENTS

Coming up tomorrow night (March 9) in the Mondays @ Six programme at St Clements will be Chi’ng-Wa Sheng, the launch of Pieter Scholtz’s new book on the spirit of the frog

Rick Andrew will sing the ballad A Frog he would a-wooing go while Pieter Scholtz will speak a ballad he has written entitled The Ballad of Ribbit the Frog.

Judge Chris Nicholson will read the role of the judge in the trial scene from Toad of Toad Hall, a play by A A Milne, based on the novel The Wind in the Willows” by Kenneth Graham.

The other roles will be read by members of the Breakfast Club. Susan Lendrum, a Scots lass despite her Danish ancestry, will read a poem entitled The Puddock, in a broad Scots accent: ‘The bigsy wee cratur’ was feelin’ that prood; He gapit his mou’ an’ he croakit oot lood:’

There are also some irreverent haiku poems about kissing frogs!


St Clements is situated at 191 Musgrave Road. Mondays @ Six run between 18h00 and 19h00. Booking is advised on 031 202 2511. There is no cover charge but there is a donations box to support presenters.
