Friends of Music’s next recital will feature pianist Spencer
Myer and takes place tomorrow (March 17.
Myer is garnering critical acclaim from around the globe and
is rapidly establishing himself as one of the most outstanding pianists of his
generation. He captured first prize in
the 10th Unisa International Piano Competition in Pretoria SA as well as
special prizes for the best performances of Bach. He is a Gold Medallist of the
New Orleans International Piano Competition.
His programme will include works by Scarlatti, Schumann, Ravel,
Barber and Bolcom.
The Prelude Performer is pianist Stimbuso Xulu.
The recital will take place at 19h30 at the Durban Jewish
Centre, 44 Old Fort (K E. Masinga) Road, Durban. Tickets R70 (R60 FOM members;
R20 Orchestral / Students) There is safe parking.
