The Centre for Jazz
and Popular Music will present the second “Twosday” gig of the year with Patrick
Bebelaar and Michel Godard gig featuring Mike Rossi and Ulrich Suesse on March
10.
Patrick Bebelaar
(Germany) has visited Durban on a number of occasions over the past decade. He
is well known to European audiences for his command of many styles of jazz
playing and his high standard of performance.
Michel Godard (Fr)
and Patrick Bebelaar have been working together for more than 15 years. They
have many CDs that document this work. For more than 5 years the two have also
been working as a duo. The CD Dedications
shows-off their good interaction. American Jazz, influences from European
middle age music, renaissance music and world jazz coming together in their
music. One of their last CDs became "CD of the year" at the famous
New York City Jazz Record Magazine and the last CD was awarded the German
Critics Award.
Patrick Bebelaar
(piano) and Michel Goddard (french tuba) will be joined by Mike Rossi on
(Saxophones) and Ulrich Suesse on (electronics).
The performance
will take place on March 10 at 18h00 at The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music
(CJPM) Level 2, Shepstone Building at UKZN Howard College Campus. Entry fee R50
