Friends of Music’s
next recital will take place tonight (April 14) and features The Trio,
featuring Elena Kerimov on violin, Boris Kerimov on cello and Liezl-Maret
Jacobs on piano.
Needing no introduction
to the Friends of Music audience, the Kerimovs will collaborate with
Liezl-Maret Jacobs in a recital of well-known Trios featuring works by Haydn’s
Andante, Poco adagio and Rondo all Όngarese and Mendelssohn’s Molto allegro ed agitato; Andante con moto; tranquillo;
Scherzo: Leggiero e vivace; Finale: Allegro assai appassionato. Completing the
programme will be Beethoven’s Allegro
con brio, Andante cantabile con variazioni. Menuetto: Quasi allegro, Finale:
Prestissimo.
In the Prelude
Performers will be a String Trio from Durban Girls College comprising Rachel
Wedderburn-Maxwell (first violin), Tasmin Hastings (second violin) and Janelle
Janse van Rensburg.
The recital takes
place at 19h30 at the Durban Jewish Centre, 44 Old Fort (K.E. Masinga) Road,
Durban. Tickets R70 (R60 FOM members and R20 Orchestral/students). There is
