WONDERboom

(Jonathan Bell; Cito; Martin Schofield & Wade Williams)

Rock legends WONDERboom travel to KZN to continue their 19th birthday celebrations in Amanzimtoti and Durban North.

At a time in the music industry when artists and bands come and go with increased regularity - it's time to celebrate with one of South Africa's most legendary rock bands; WONDERboom having turned 19 in February and are hitting the road to ensure fans in other cities in South Africa can celebrate with them.

WONDERboom has much to be proud of.  They have released eight albums, headlined every major South African festival, been nominated for five SAMA’s (South African Music Awards), and won a Kanna Award and People Crystal Award in 2003 for South Africa’s hottest band. They also won the South African leg of the 2004 Global Battle of the Bands and came second worldwide, all while maintaining the level of music that audiences love.

Always a crowd favourite at festivals and intimate venues alike, they are currently in studio again, working on their 9th album and promise the crowd attending their birthday celebrations a sneak preview as to what to expect from their latest offering.

Entrance fee is R100 for both gigs, and the performances kick off at 20h00 with the supporting acts adding their own unique flair to the evening.

WONDERboom will perform at Ollies Pub and Grill, 9 Beach Road, on Lagoon, in Amanzimtoti on April 10 supported by The Cartel Collective and Gage and at Hanger 8 at Virginia Airport, North Coast Road, Durban North on April 11 supported by Stone City and The Cartel Collective. Doors open at 18h00 at both gigs, with the bands kicking off at 20h00.
