The Rotary Club of Kloof will present Festival in the Hills at Curro Hillcrest Christian Academy and in
the City Hill Auditorium in Hillcrest at the end of August.
An Arts Festival for primary school children and their
families, the day offers a full programme of performances, workshops and free
activities. Over 1,500 children are expecting to attend and whilst school
groups from across South Africa have been invited to participate, the event is
open to the public
The programme includes an Opening Parade (08h30-09h00); first
production in the Media Hall (09h00-10h00 - show title still tbc); Carvin H
Goldstone in Coloured President in
the Media Hall (10h30-11h30); Bryan Hiles and Daisy Spencer in The Great Big Enormous Turnip free
performance on the field (11h30-12h15); The KZN Philharmonic Orchestra in What Does Music Mean narrated by Graeme
Wicks - free performance on the field (12h30-13h15); Big Broadway, Small Stars - Aaron McIlroy and Lisa Bobbert, with
massed choirs conducted by Bernard Kruger - City Hill Auditorium (14h30-16h30).
There will be various workshops in classrooms and on the
field as well as school groups performing on the Open Stage.
