Artist Dot Vermeulen won the 2013 Sasol New Signature award
with her work Desperately Disciplined two
years ago.
Together with her friend Elrie Joubert, she exhibited at Durban’s
Artisan Gallery in August 2014. The gallery is saddened to pass on the news of
Vermeulen’s death.
“It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Dot
Vermeulen after she was involved in a car accident a fortnight ago. Our sincere
condolences go out to the Vermeulen family,” says Ingrid Lotter Smith, owner of
the Gallery.
Vermeulen was based in Bloemfontein.
