The eight-concert spring season of the KZN Philharmonic
Orchestra starts in the Durban City Hall on August 27, and so do the
pre-concert lectures, which are intended to give audience members a greater
understanding and enjoyment of the music they are about to hear.
The lectures, which are organised by the Friends of Music
and the KZNPO, are given in the City Hall from 18h15 to 19h00 (the concerts
begin at 19h30). The entrance fee is R10. Drinks and snacks can be bought in
the foyer before and after the talk.
The speakers for the spring season are:
Michael Green, music critic - August 27, September 10 and October
22.
Dr Teddy Pillay, paediatrician and music-lover - September 3
and October 8.
Daniel Walshaw, Artistic Administrator, KZNPO - September 17
and 24 and October 1.
