Recently opened at the Artisan Gallery is the Friends exhibition which features a body
of artists who have been friends and associates over many years (in some cases 30
years or more).
Curated by John Smith, a long-term supporter of the arts and
highly respected painter, this exhibition offers a rare opportunity to see in
one show the works of these established artists, each with their own respective
style presented in their preferred medium, with such a vast breadth of experience
amongst them.
Among the 16 artists are Anton Benzon, Barbara Siedle, Ian
van Zyl, John Smith and Nicole Pletts as well as sculptors Carl Roberts and
Izidro Duarte, and photographers Barry Comber and Harry Lock.
The topics are as diverse as the artists, ranging from
landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes, wildlife and figurative works.
The exhibition runs until October 10. Artisan Gallery is
situated at 344 Florida Road, Morningside, Durban. The gallery is wheelchair
friendly. More information on 031 312 4364 or 083 301 5747, email: info@artisan.co.za
