THE BOTOX MONOLOGUES

(Tonya Koenderman)

Many moons ago when Tonya Koenderman was “a spring chicken and Kevin Feather was young-(er) and cocky-er”  – Kevin cast Tonya in his show The Doowah Girls which turned into a four-year success. From there Tonya sailed on her own way, higher and higher as a sought-after cabaret star – and Kevin continued as a writer/producer/musician etc etc writing the history books with shows like the multi-award-nominated Jo’burg Follies.

Tonya also made a big name for herself as a Liza Minnelli impersonator appearing on all the major stages. And Kevin created more and more sold-out shows to delight theatre audiences.

Spooky how life works – Tonya and Kevin met up again recently and - POW! - renewed their partnership as friends and performers – as well as writers, composers and all the wonderful creative magic that is the life-blood of maturity and genius!

So here they are – back on stage looking back on life in the fast lane and the trials and tribulations of growing “up” – how blissful experience and maturity shines through like a shimmering sun in the still hush of dawn.

The Botox Monologues is a musical reflection, a celebration and having a wonderful hearty laugh at life as it flows and flies forever forward.

The meandering of musical moments include Habanera, Michael Buble’s Feeling Good, Hit me With a Hot note, Moments Away by Mango Groove, Le Jazz Hot, All about that face (not Bass) and a great deal of spoofs to tickle the funny bone.

The Botox Monologues is presented by Rhumbelow Theatre in association with the Westville Country Club. There will be two performances in the Westville Old Boys Hall on October 4 – at 14h30 and 19h00.
