Arts Interactive is
an interactive group/gathering of those interested in the betterment of the Visual
Arts. They hold regular monthly meetings and the October event will feature photographer
Daryl Houghton who has recently returned from Spain and will give an
illustrated presentation entitled An
Exploration Of The Surreal World Of Salvador Dali As Manifested In The Dalinian
Triangle Of Catalonia.
“Our journey will
take us firstly to Figueres, the birthplace of Salvador Dali, where we will
visit the Dali Theatre-Museum with is bizarre mixture of kitsch and major
masterpieces,” explains Houghton. “We then continue on to the remote fishing
village of Port Lligat where we visit the house that was Dali's primary
residence for over 50 years, and which became a living expression of his
surreal genius. We complete our exploration of the Dalinian triangle at the
third point with a visit to the austere castle at Pubol, which Dali created as
a retreat for his wife, Gala.”
