#SELFIE25

Eshowe-based new media artist Cebo Simphiwe Xulu is presenting homage to the positive contributions of 25 future icons of South Africa’s digital age. The work called Selfie 25 is set as an abstract personal commentary on the modern phenomenon of the selfie culture, and is sponsored by Nedbank Arts Affinity and the Arts & Culture Trust (ACT).

The project is a vibrant, amusing, integrative digital project that bridges the concept of traditional art with the digital sphere by use of the concept of the selfie. A treatise into the art of selfie culture, Selfie 25 invites art lovers and observers to come to the gallery space to take selfies with Xulu’s artworks called “Digital Selfies” and share their art selfies on their social media under the hashtag #selfie25.

The exhibition is currently running at the KZNSA Gallery. For more information visit http://www.kznsagallery.co.za/exhibitions/selfie25.htm
